Forty years ago at the age of 10,
Peter Armata was introduced to
surfing at Lincoln Blvd. in Long
Beach. Since then, he has surfed
the world including Brazil, Costa
Rica,Tahiti, Fiji, Australia and
many other islands. His contest
successes are many, including 1st
place longboard, and shortboard and
sportsmanship award also at Cupsoque
Beach, Eastern Surfing Assoc. Contest.
He has also placed 2nd at Rio De Janero
in 1999 at the Red Bull Longboard Classic,
and most recently placed 2nd at the
2000 Rabbit Kehai Longboard Classic
in Costa Rica.
Pistol Pete is well known in the
surfing world. He is personal friends
of Rabbit Kekai (greatest living waterman),
Colin McPhillips, Joel Tudor, Bonga Perkins
and Clyde Aikau (great surf representative
and brother of Eddie Aikau).
Pistol Pete also is director of the Pistol Pete
Surf School, and has instructed over 500
students on the art of surfing. He is also a
2nd degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kempo
Karate.
